Affirmations: How To Fool The Law of Attraction and Get "I Am" Working For You

Affirmations are a very powerful tool we can use to harness the power of the law of attraction to get the results we desire.  When you state the words "I am" the Universe is listening and the law of attraction sends you experiences to support the "I am-ness" of your statement. Sounds simple, right?

Ah, but there's a catch.  The Universe isn't just listening to your statement.  It's also feeling your vibrations surrounding that statement and if the two don't gel, the law of attraction will always send you what you are feeling.

For example, you may state "I am wealthy", but that nagging little voice inside your head says "Are you kidding?  Have you seen your bank balance? You are not wealthy!" We can always feel the discord between the two competing voices, yours and that little bugger, which controls your reactions, or feelings. The law of attraction responds to your feelings, so in the above case, it will send you experiences that support your feelings of not being wealthy.

Uh oh, well that sucks, you're thinking. How am I suppose to use affirmations to get where I want to go, when my feelings betray me? (Ah, geez, now I sound like Darth Vader)

Okay, I get it.  Seems impossible, doesn't it?  Well, it isn't.  The good news is that the law of attraction cannot tell the difference between what is "real" and what is "imagined".  It works purely based on your feelings.  So, this makes it open to being fooled.  A-hah!

So, here's a little trick I use to fool the law of attraction.

I close my eyes, and envision my perfect day.  Where I want to be, who I'm with, how I look, how I feel, you get the idea.  Then I tell myself, while imagining this scene,

"Describe yourself"

Before I go on, I'll share with you, that my "scene" is me on a private yacht (it's huge), somewhere in the Mediterranean, looking smoking hot (yeah, why not?), smiling as the sun shines down on me and my hunky boyfriend hands me a cocktail.

So, I describe myself.

I am abundant
I am wealthy
I am blessed
I am beautiful
I am confident
I am happy
I am loved
I am sexy
I am relaxed

And so on, and so on.  I do this for a few minutes at a time, 2 or 3 times a day (I mean, I have a life, I can't sit and visualise all day long, can I?) I often repeat myself several times too, so don't struggle trying to come up with new words. Just let it flow.

When I do this, I can believe all of the above and more importantly I FEEL all of the above.  I get goosebumps, and a big smile on my face, and just like that, I've fooled the law of attraction.

Try it out and see if it works for you.  You'll know it's worked by the way you feel, and remember, in the beginning, your feeling is a manifestation.  Keep going and see what else turns up.

How To Ask For And Receive A Direct Answer From Source

First of all, be careful what you wish for.  I say that not because you shouldn't all get everything you've ever desired, but because Source is always, and I mean always giving you direct answers, inspiration, guidance, help, and advice.  Source knows your questions before you even have to ask them and is prepared to guide you to the solution.

Why then should you be careful about what you wish for? Because if you're not getting the answers to your questions, then you've only got yourself to blame.

I don't say this to make you feel guilty.  Hell, there's been plenty of times I've blocked my own way and haven't let Source's guidance come through.  We've all done it, so yeah, don't feel bad about it, just do something to correct it.  And that means taking responsibility for your part in this.

Okay, so we're none of us perfect, and we all screw up from time to time.

Good thing Source loves us anyway.

It's also a good thing Source is always sending us signs and pointing us in the right direction.  We don't usually notice these things unless we're actively trying to find a solution to something.  We get too busy with the minutiae of life to notice.  But when something big comes up, that's when we turn to Source.  You may recognize it as prayer.

It doesn't have to be in a formal structure of prayer ie :" Dear God, can you help me with such and such?"  Although that's perfectly fine.  But it can be as simple as "How do I fix this?" or "How can I make this better" or "Where can I find the money for that?"

The trick is to monitor your feelings when you're asking for help.  I know, I know, that seems counter-intuitive because we usually only ask for help when we're scared, desperate or hopeless. You'll never receive the answer to your question or prayer if this is the vibration you're sending off.

You have to find a way to raise your vibration on the subject you are asking about.  Believe me, I know how hard this is.  Fifteen years ago I watched my mother succumb to cancer during which time I prayed my little heart out.  I was scared.  I was fearful. I was terrified.

I got no comfort until after she had passed, when Thank God, I realized I had to focus on being grateful for the wonderful mother I had, and that I had had her well into my adulthood.  I decided to focus on that to get me through.  And you know what?  It helped.  I know now that the inspiration came from Source.  I needed a way to feel better.  I needed a way to smile again and I was open to anything.  Source was looking out for me and guided me to a better feeling, even during such a sad time.

So even if you are going through something difficult, be open.  Be receptive.  Accept that Source loves you and is always providing help to you.  Make a conscious decision to look for positive signs around you.  Allow yourself to laugh.  Listen.  Pay attention.  Believe that Source loves you, 'cause boy does it ever.

When (not if) you do that, you will get answers.  You will get support and relief.  Trust in the process and know that everything is always working out for you.

How To Get The Law of Attraction To Work For You In Five Minutes

Today I have a simple exercise for you in order to maximize your results with the law of attraction.  I put it this way, because the law of attraction is always at work, sometimes bringing us experiences that we don't want, instead of ones that we do want.

Maximizing your results is all about getting what you do want.  This exercise is simple and fun.

Okay, so by now we all know that to get positive results, and experiences with the law of attraction that we have to emit positive vibrations out into the Universe.  The problem is that we are so embroiled in the reality or what-isness of our lives that we become obsessed with it and forget to take the time to create a reality that we actually want.  Well, do you have five minutes?  Of course you do, and if you say you don't, then get up five minutes earlier.

Here's what I want you to do.  I want you to make a list of 10 emotions that make you feel good.  But don't just idly write down ten words, write down one word and then ponder it.  Think about how that word makes you feel. Let the smile come upon your face and swim in the deliciousness of that word.  Then, write down your second word and do the same thing.  Keep doing this until you have a list of 10 words that make you feel good.  I promise you, this can be done in as little as five minutes. In fact, I just did it.  Here's my list for you, if you need inspiration:

1. Ease
2. Fun
3. Love
4. Confidence
5. Laughter
6. Happiness
7. Well-being
8. Joy
9. Appreciation
10. Pride

You can, of course, pick your own words, but make sure they feel good.  Do this everyday for a week, and any time you are feeling any of the 10 words on your list, make sure you take note of it, and take credit for it.  Next time your laughing till you gut hurts, say "I did that."  The more you notice what you create, the more deliberately creative you will become.

Meditation: The Wonder Fuel

Do you ever feel like you are running out of energy?  You know what I'm talking about - those days where everyone wants a piece of you.  Everywhere you go, someone needs to ask you a question, or a favour, or tells you to do something.  I've had plenty of these days and they used to drive me crazy.  The kind of crazy where I used to just snap at anyone.  I'd have a certain tolerance level and when it was breached, watch out cause here comes the BOOM!

Fortunately, we live in a universe which is filled with energy, and when I say filled, I  mean it basically is energy.

"The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together."

Yep, I'm a Star Wars geek. Join me or get over it.

Back to this energetic universe that we live in.  Since it is everywhere, then it is not possible to ever run out.  Oh, we run low, that's for sure.  But just like your car when it runs low on gas, what do you do?  You fill it up of course!  So what's the logical thing to do when you run low on energy?  You fill up on it of course!

I know, I know.  You're gonna say "how the hell do I do thatAnd where do I do that?  I can't just stop in the middle of the work day and "fill up on energy".  You're right, you're right.  I do know what it's like.  So how about this: Instead of filling up when you get low, you start your day by filling up on energy, before all those energy vampires try to bleed you dry?

What's the best way to do that?  In my opinion, there is nothing better than meditation when it comes to refueling. Mediation allows you time ( 15 minutes) to just calm the hell down.  It quiets your mind, regulates your breathing, calms your nerves.  It tells the universe: "I'm filling up on your energy to get me through the day."  The universe is at your command, and will deliver the energy you need.  You just need to allow it, which is where meditation comes in.

Here's the bad news:  You're gonna have to get up earlier.  Period.  No question, especially if you have a full time job and a family.  You're just gonna have to get up earlier.  Just do it, okay?  Just commit to taking 15 minutes for yourself every morning so that you can fill up with energy, so that you can handle the day's stress with a smile.  You'll not only be doing yourself a favour, but you'll also be doing everyone around you a favour too.  But, do it for yourself.  Want more for yourself.  You deserve it.

Why You Need to Perform Random Acts of Kindness

"Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.”—Scott Adams Creator Of Dilbert Comic Strip

Have you ever had someone perform a random act of kindness for you?  Need some examples?

Ever had someone let you jump in front of them in line in the grocery store if you only have a few items?

Ever had someone help you with luggage or a baby carriage up a flight of stairs?

Ever had someone hold a door open for you?

Ever had the person in front of you in the drive-thru pay for your order? (This one is super cool when it happens to you!)

How did these random acts of kindness make you feel?  All 4 of the above examples have happened to me and probably many of you have experienced them too.  Personally, they made me feel lucky, grateful, happy, surprised, and renewed my faith in the kindness of strangers.

Now, have you ever performed a random act of kindness?  If you have, then you know how good it feels to make someone smile, and in all probability, feel the emotions I just listed.  I think there is no better feeling in the world to know that you have helped someone, even if in some small way.  When you perform a random act of kindness, not only does it lift your own spirit, and the recipient of your kindness, but you have also paved the way for more random acts of kindness.

We tend to treat others how they treat us.  Imagine a world where we are all kind to one another?  Yes, I'm probably ripping off John Lennon here, but he was right.

Let's just all be nicer to one another, okay?

That is why, on July 14th I'm joining the Random Acts of Kindness Celebration .  It's my friend's birthday and he wants to celebrate it in style, by inspiring us all to perform just one random act of kindness, and then share it for all to see.  Sign up, and commit to being kind to someone just for one day, and if you like the way it makes you feel, then get greedy with the feeling.  Repeat as often as possible!

If you need more convincing, here's a little inspiration for you:

My Daily Chat With Money

Want to have a better relationship with money?  Who doesn't, right?  Well, as with every relationship communication is key.  I know, you're thinking, communicate with my money? WTF???

It's very simple, and very quick.  You have just have to touch base with money every day.  I don't mean spend it, or look at it, though that's fine too.  I mean have an actual conversation with it, or chat, if you will.

I usually have my chat with money just before going to sleep.  I spend most of the conversation thanking money for the things it brought me that day. For example, the heating in my house, the food in my fridge, the clothes on my back.....you get the idea.  Of course, some days are exceptional and I get to say thank you for this amazing vacation, or thank you for that delicious meal, or thank you for that fun night out.

Sometimes I have to apologize to money.  Yep, it's true.  Sometimes I get a bit anxious if I think something is gonna cost me too much.  Sometimes I can be cheap.  So I apologize to money. I assure it that I know it's me building walls and that I'm gonna knock 'em down.  And then I thank it for being patient and waiting for me to snap out of it.

I always finish my conversation with "God bless, you money." Simple, straight to the point, and very effective.  You don't have to use these exact words if they don't sit well with you though.  You can say something like, "I appreciate you, money" or "I love you money"  Now those are some powerful words! Who doesn't want to hear that from someone they're in a relationship with?  Try it and see how you get on. Go on, I dare you!

Happy Money Manifesting Experiment

A few months ago I bought a book called Happy Money (Increase the Flow of Money with A Simple 2 Step Formula) by Laina Buenostar.  In this book, Buenostar suggests a simple, and fun 2 step formula to increase the flow of money into your life (never would've guessed that, based on the title, eh?)

So, I decided to give the experiment a try.  I mean, why not?  It sounded like a fun experiment and it was easy to do.  And who doesn't want to increase the flow of money into their lives. I know I sure do.  I love it when money comes into my life in delightful and surprising ways.  I stopped saying "unexpected" ways, because, truly, I expect money to come into my life always, and you should too.

Back to the book:  It's very short and at less than a buck, it's well worth buying and reading.  I have tried the formula Buenostar suggests several times, all with positive results.  This works, people.  In fact, it works so well, that yesterday I left home with the intention to use the formula at some point during the day.  It wasn't until I got home that I realized I had forgotten to.  However, I learned that the intention was enough. Almost $100 was paid into my paypal account that I didn't know was coming to me.  How delightful, and surprising!

That it the reason I am finally writing this review.  As I said at the beginning, I bought this book a few months ago, and have been using the formula fairly regularly since.  It wasn't until yesterday when I realized that my intention alone was strong enough to get positive results, that I decided to write this blog post.

I strongly recommend this book!  You'll not only see more money flow into your life, but you'll have fun doing the experiment too.  Let me know if you've tried it and how it worked for you.
